Duncan Grady, the First Pics

Last Updated: 3/20/07

Wendy started induction at 6am on Monday, March 19th. She was finally ready to start pushing at 8pm, but the baby was facing upwards and didn't much feel like budging. Around 9pm, we still hadn't had any changes, so we needed to take a different tact. Like a trooper, she agreed to the c-section, and we had our baby at 9:40pm.

He was a little blue and had some labored breathing, so they held him in the NICU till around 3am, but he got delivered shortly after that to his mommy for some snuggle time.

His middle name is in honor of Wes' brother and biological father who both had Grady as their middle names.

Here's a few pictures from the first 24 hours.

It's like Wes stars in a humorous medical sit-com!

Wendy yuks it up with the anaethesiologist... is that how you spell that?

We've been watching too many baby stories... I expected him to be covered in more goo.

"I have had about enough of this crap!"

He gained another .2 pounds before the end of the night somehow.

Duncan meets his wonderful momma, who has been lugging him around all this time.

Up in the Neonatal ICU... At one visitor per trip, it took a while to bring up all the family... heh.

Checking him once... checking him twice... he's nice.

Granddaddy gets to meet his newest grandson.

The nurses finally get our son to see his mother at about 3am... Wendy was such a trooper.
