New House
06/29/05

So Wendy and I have been busy at the new house trying to get it ready... here's some pics of our progress so far.

Here's the old color... a soft eggshell blue... in flat paint...
had to go.

Abby agrees... and barks at Wendy to change it....

After speaking with some painters, and noticing that the old carpet was painted onto the floorboards, I opted to remove them.
Unfortunately, they were sealed to the wall, and you can notice how the paper pulled off the drywall, leaving exposed paper backing.
So I had to re-drywall-mud the bottom of the walls.

Meanwhile, Wendy was repainting all the closets and shelves.
She got paint on her finger.

This used to be Dawn's Grandma's "Wall of Children"...
so the house looked like it had chicken pox with all the spackle I threw up.

Wendy's sister, Holly, dropped by.. and Benjamin let us know how cute everything was.

Meanwhile, I attacked the hedges in the front yard... and got them under control.
But I must do more work later.. heh

Backyard in effect! I really want to build a rail with some seating onto the deck.

On Sunday, Pam came and helped us prime the walls!
This isn't the final color... it's actually darker.

A view down the hall... no chicken pox!

Before and after priming in the dining room... that grey looks awfully green before the blue goes.

Here's the new color... and no, those aren't orbs.

Abby checks it all out... She's almost comfy there now.

Off to get a drink with Pam... So long, lovelies!
