An Afternoon of Fun at The Space and Rocket Center!
Our friend Jen came into town from Toronto for her vacation. Yeah, yeah... I know. Who comes to Huntsville for their vacation?!? Well, as much as you fuddy-duddies would like to sully the good name of my hometown, I'm gonna have to put my foot down. There is so much wonderful stuff about our little villa and that doesn't even include the great people that are around here. So who can blame our friends for wanting to see where WE come from after we've flown all over the globe to visit them? Especially after I've dazzled them with all my pictures of laughs and good times!
I was glad she came and I think she was too. And of course, we had to make the obligatory trip to the Rocket Center.

This is before we managed to turn Dawn into TIMMY!

"MwaHA HA HA! She's within my power, now!"
"Wes, shut up and push..."

For those who don't know it, the Alabama Space and Rocket Center is the largest Space Museum outside the Smithsonian.

Unfortunately, it still has that "home town museum" feel in places, as evidenced by these LAME video games that seemed worthy from the waiting lines.

"Lemme get this straight... I'm in a shuttle armed with beam weapons, and I'm supposed to be shooting down orbital debris? Then am I shooting that fully suited astronaut?"
"And why won't this joystick MOVE?"

Next time, I'm gonna get them to moon the camera... GET IT?

Here we are, posed in front of a model V-2... you know, that early version of the ICBM that the nazis were working on. Huntsville made a name for itself by sweeping up all those weapon building krauts and putting them to work on our space program. Hooray for us!
Notice that Dawn is about to shoot milk out her nose.

See... here are some pieces of a V-2 rocket that landed in England...

I think "landed" was too nice of a way to put it, don't you?
Dawn didn't stop laughing for 5 minutes.

What does this dapper fella remind you of?

YES! They're training TIE pilots at Space Camp!

The boss
comments on Space Camp...
Since we snagged all those german weapons specialists and brought them to Huntsville, we also celebrate all the nifty new toys of destruction we Alabamians keep tossing together.

I love a woman in uniform... mrawr!

Can you hear Sting singing in the background?

Big Head and the Saturn V!
How big is it? (1.4M)

Dawn and Steph wait for Jen and I to die on the Space Shot...
